Bitumen

Bitumen

Bitumen, also known as asphalt in the United States, is a substance derived from the distillation of crude oil, prized for its waterproofing and adhesive qualities. During the distillation process, lighter components like gasoline and diesel are removed, leaving behind the denser bitumen. Producers often refine bitumen multiple times to enhance its quality. In addition to being produced synthetically, bitumen can also be found naturally. Deposits of naturally occurring bitumen originate from ancient lake beds where organic matter has decomposed over time, undergoing heat and pressure to form bitumen. UNIMINES is emerging as a key player in the bitumen industry, offering various types and grades such as Penetration Grades, Viscosity Grades, and Performance Grades as part of its initial foray into petroleum industrial activities.
